Today I walked back and forth from the gym three times. It is a solid 25 minutes walk one way, so I walked about an hour and a half today on top of two practices...fun times :) I can't complain though, because I am thankful for the opportunity I have to be over here. My coaches and teammates have been wonderful!!!
Oh and I also got a cell phone for over here, so now I can communicate with people here in Turkey which is GREAT!! :)
Tomorrow we have lifting and then 2 practices. I think we are also going to the dentist tomorrow to get a check up.
Verse of the day:
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27:1
Don't you have your hands full with today? Don't you find yourself distracted from the urgent and important things of today when you worry about the problems of tomorrow? Don't you occasionally find yourself missing an opportunity today while fantasizing about all the possibilities down the road? Isn't it a waste of time to be anxious about those things over which you have no influence? So why worry so much about tomorrow, and next week, and ...? Let's walk with God today and trust in his faithfulness for us tomorrow.
My Utmost For His Highest:
Our little “I am” always sulks and pouts when God says do. Let your little “I am” be shriveled up in God’s wrath and indignation–”I AM WHO I AM . . . has sent me to you” (Exodus 3:14). He must dominate. Isn’t it piercing to realize that God not only knows where we live, but also knows the gutters into which we crawl! He will hunt us down as fast as a flash of lightning. No human being knows human beings as God does.
Our Daily Bread:
Accomplishing a lot for God may make us feel important, but what makes us important to God is what we allow Him to accomplish in us—conforming us into the image of His Son (Rom. 8:28-30).
Christ never asks of us such busy labor
As leaves no time for resting at His feet;
The waiting attitude of expectation
He often counts as service most complete. —Anon.
Our value is not measured by what we do for God but by what He has done in us.
Have a wonderful Tuesday tomorrow :)
