I wanted to write a little bit about my season after reflecting some on it. This by far has been one of the most unique seasons out of my 7 years of playing professional basketball. Each season I have played presents different obstacles, but this season seemed to have many. I am thankful for the many experiences I have had this season, although some of them have been hard. What a blessing it has been knowing that the Lord has been by my side at ALL times.
In the midst of a pretty chaotic season, the Lord brought 3 girls (Lisa, Lesley, and Jen) into my life who I was able to develop friendships with. All three of them live in Istanbul and they happen to be roommates together as well. I have been encouraged by them, and it has been awesome to be able to spend time with fellow Believer's sharing the joys and struggles that we have faced and endured the last few months.
I head back to the states on Tuesday. I will be flying into Chicago to spend time with my brother, Amy, and Lincoln. My husband will be driving up to meet me, so I am super excited about that. I look forward to spending some time home in the States with my husband and then also being able to see my family and friends as well.
The Lord has clearly sustained me over these last 6 months in Turkey, and for that I feel so blessed. There have been a couple of bombings this year in my city, and I have graciously been protected from those. The country of Turkey is hurting right now, but we serve a mighty God who is capable to conquer the evil that is at war in this country. May we never cease to be bold about our faith in whatever country we find ourselves in.
Tomorrow I am heading to Kadikoy to spend the day with Jen, Lisa, and Lesley. I am then going to spend the night with them and then go to church on Sunday for one last time this year in Turkey.
God bless,
Megan
