We had one practice today. We watched film before practice and then practiced. Today was a conditioning practice, so we conditioned for about a half hour and then we played after that!
After practice I came back and took a shower and then my roommates (Linds, Jo, and Lyndra) as well as Dila all went to Sushico. Sushico is an amazing place to eat :) I love sushi, so I was able to get some of that plus some garlic beef and some chicken. This is the third time we have been there, and we have had the same waiter every time, so we are kind of getting to know him. After the meal he brought us some candied walnuts and chinese tea for free :) The tea was delicious!!
We came back to the house, and I did my devotions and started writing my blog :)

Verses of the day:
Psalm 78:35 “They remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.”
How many times do we push God to the side when things are going well? I want to remember the Lord at ALL times. This chapter goes on to say that the people were not loyal, but the Lord continued to extend grace to them. He continues this day to extend grace to us at ALL times! Thank you Jesus.
Proverbs 23:12 “Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.”
Lately I have been listening to a lot of different sermons, and love it!! It is not always easy to listen to instruction, but we gain knowledge when we do J. My prayer is that I would be receptive to instruction!
Proverbs 23:22 “Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.”
Parents are amazing!! I am so thankful for my Mom and my Dad J. I have learned so much from my parents, and continue to everyday!!
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.”
I really like these verses as well. You know I have always been amazed how a kind word, or even just a smile can make someone’s day. We do not need to always do something extravagant, in fact it is usually when we are quiet and just simply show by our actions that people take notice! Ultimately I want to reflect Jesus in whatever way I can.
I think the devotional from My Utmost For His Highest today, depicts the above verses from 1 Thessalonians well!!

My Utmost For His Highest – Feb. 23rd
THE DETERMINATION TO SERVE
"The Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister." Matthew 20:28
Paul's idea of service is the same as Our Lord's: "I am among you as He that serveth;" "ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake." We have the idea that a man called to the ministry is called to be a different kind of being from other men. According to Jesus Christ, he is called to be the "door-mat" of other men; their spiritual leader, but never their superior. "I know how to be abased," says Paul. This is Paul's idea of service - "I will spend myself to the last ebb for you; you may give me praise or give me blame, it will make no difference." So long as there is a human being who does not know Jesus Christ, I am his debtor to serve him until he does. The mainspring of Paul's service is not love for men, but love for Jesus Christ. If we are devoted to the cause of humanity, we shall soon be crushed and broken-hearted, for we shall often meet with more ingratitude from men than we would from a dog; but if our motive is love to God, no ingratitude can hinder us from serving our fellow men.
Paul's realization of how Jesus Christ had dealt with him is the secret of his determination to serve others. "I was before a perjurer, a blasphemer, an injurious person" - no matter how men may treat me, they will never treat me with the spite and hatred with which I treated Jesus Christ. When we realize that Jesus Christ has served us to the end of our meanness, our selfishness, and sin, nothing that we meet with from others can exhaust our determination to serve men for His sake.
