We did an hour of shooting this morning, which went great. After shooting, Jo and I walked back to our apartment. We officially timed it today, and it took us close to 30 minutes to walk from the gym to our apartment. We also have the luxury of living on the 8th floor, so that means we go down and up 80 stairs and least once a day.
This afternoon we went to Mersin and scrimmaged them. Mersin is right on the Mediterranean Sea, and it is a beautiful city. The scrimmage was a little rough, but we came out on top with the WIN!!
It was great being able to step out on the court again and actually play against contact and stuff. You don't realize how much you miss something until it is taken away. I feel blessed to be able to continue to play basketball for as long as the Lord allows.
I took a few pictures today of my apartment and of my teammates. I plan on doing some exploring of the city this weekend, so I hope to take some pictures then.
Here is the link to the pictures I took:

Verse of the day:
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
My Utmost For His Highest:
We have all experienced times of exaltation on the mountain, when we have seen things from God’s perspective and have wanted to stay there. But God will never allow us to stay there. The true test of our spiritual life is in exhibiting the power to descend from the mountain. If we only have the power to go up, something is wrong. *WOW so true!! "the power to descend from the mountain"...you think about when you go down a hill on a bike or in a car. It takes either brakes or coasting to eventually come to a stop. There are going to be times in our life, where we feel like the brakes have been applied, and there are going to be times where we feel like we are coasting along in life, not accomplishing a whole lot. It is in these moments of our lives, that we are most vulnerable I believe to what the Lord is teaching us. What a challenge: TO EXHIBIT SPIRITUAL POWER WHEN WE ARE DESCENDING A MOUNTAIN TOP!!
Our Daily Bread:
Because I am not a “fix it” kind of guy, I had to call a friend who is a great handyman to make some repairs in my home recently. He came over, and I gave him my list. But to my surprise, he told me I would be doing the repairs myself! He modeled for me how to do it, instructed me along the way, and stayed with me. I followed his example and successfully made the repairs. This modeling seems close to what Jesus did when He called His first disciples.
When Jesus called those men to follow Him, He wanted them to be with Him and to teach the good news of the kingdom of God (Mark 1:14,39; 6:12). The first job would require being under the immediate super-vision of Jesus—learning His words and interpretation of the Scriptures and watching His behavior. For the second task, Jesus sent them out to preach (Mark 3:14-15)—saying what He said and doing what He did. As they carried out these tasks, they were to be dependent on Jesus.
Today, Jesus is still calling His followers to this simple, yet powerful process of discipleship—being with Him, following His instructions, and living His example. Are you one who is dependent on Him as you’re following Him today?
Discipleship is relational and experiential.
I am hitting the sack! Goodnight :)
