I am so sorry the link did not work to watch the game. I knew going into the game that it was on TV, but my club still sent me a link to be able to access it on the internet. I am thinking because the game was on TV that maybe they blocked people from being able to watch it on the internet. I am not really sure, but I will be looking into it for sure.
So, unfortunately you didn't miss too much. We went up against the #1 team in Israel and we got it handed to us pretty good. It isn't that we can't beat them, because we can but at this point in the season they are better than us...more fluid with their defensive strategies, their offensive sets, etc. The final score was 81-53. Nobody ever wants to get beat, but it does happen. Worse yet, nobody wants to get tromped on...BUT it does happen sometimes. The question is will you wallow around in your misery, self-pity, and gloom, or will you brush off the dust...get up off the ground...and get back to work! It is time to get back after it here in Ramat Hasharon, Israel!! If you find yourself in the midst of a defeat in your own life, ask the Lord for guidance and direction. He will provide and ultimately give you enough strength for each day!!
It was a good wake up call for us, and we all know we need those from time to time whether it is in the game of sports or in life. May we strive to never reach a point where we start to get complacent, but may we ever be striving to get better daily whether it be in athletics, our job, school, and most importantly our walk with the Lord. God has given us all unique abilities, and so what a JOY and an HONOR it is to be able to FULLY use those abilities to bring honor and glory to His name!! It isn't about us, but rather it is all about Him!!
I wanted to share with you something one of my friends wrote me, and I just happened to open up the note tonight after the not so fun loss...super sweet!! I would give this person a shout out, but I know she wasn't writing this to be recognized, so yeah...you know who you are and thanks!! I am thankful the Lord has allowed our paths to cross for sure!!
As we finish out this week, may we be ever conscious of OPPORTUNITIES that the Lord places in our lives. "Don't let it slip on by"!!! Check this song out:
"Jesus didn't talk to Peter about duty. Rather he talked to him about devotion. Jesus had only one concern, and it was not about responsibility but relationship."
"Jesus didn't teach the truth; he is the truth. He doesn't call us to simply know things, but to know him. He teaches us to be with him. Not to walk in lockstep with everything he said, without doubts or questions or confusion. But to walk alongside him, to watch and to learn. To keep company with him, to rest and recover."
"He calls us not to a guilt trip but to a getaway."
"Jesus plus something doesn't increase him; it diminishes him. It isn't more; it is less. Jesus is simply enough"
May we all keep in mind and remember that:
JESUS IS SIMPLY ENOUGH!!!
