Today we ended up losing the game by 8 points to Canik. It was a tough loss, but at the same time coach rested a lot of us foreigners which was nice since we play again tomorrow. We still played a little over 20 minutes each but it was nice not to be playing 30 to 35 plus minutes. The other team played all of their foreigners the entire time. Since these are pre-season games, we of course would love to win, but the amount of games we are playing is a lot on our bodies so coach is doing a pretty good job of being smart about how he handles these games.
We play again tomorrow and our game got moved up to 1:00 p.m. so we will be playing it and then flying back to Istanbul after the game. I am excited to get back to my apartment for a few nights before we hit the road again.
Reading for the day:
October 17th
Joshua 22/Matthew 19
Joshua 22 - An altar is built to remember that the worship of the Lord is necessary. What a blessing we have to bring honor and glory to the Lord through our actions whether that be in our job or anything we do!
Matthew 19 – Jesus addresses divorce in this chapter. Divorce is unlawful and should not be considered unless one spouse is being unfaithful to the other one. When divorce occurs outside of this and remarriage happens then adultery is being committed. Jesus finishes the chapter talking about the “rich young ruler”. May we be ever mindful to not store up earthly possessions that moths and thieves can destroy but may we store up eternal treasures.
For any of you interested in my schedule for the rest of the month here it is:
God bless,
