We lost a close one today unfortunately to Canik! It was tough playing without a couple players who have some nagging injuries, but we did well despite all of that. And the fact that we just finished up 16 games in one month doesn't help either. We traveled back to Istanbul tonight and I have been up doing laundry. Thankfully we gain an hour during the night, because the time changes so that is good.
Tomorrow we fly from Istanbul to Samsun and then take a bus to Ordu. The regular season starts on Wednesday, October 25th. We open up with a home game against Osmaniye to start out the regular season in Ordu. I will keep you posted on how this week goes. I don't know the internet situation yet at the hotel we will be staying at in Ordu, but I have heard it isn't that great. We will come back to Istanbul either Wednesday or Thursday.
As a result of not finishing in the Top 2 of our pool for Turkish Cup, we will not be qualifying for the next round, so we now officially have a Christmas Break which will be nice. We definitely had our chances to win, but it didn't work out.
Reading for today:
Psalm 43
“Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
I will praise him again--
my Savior and my God!”
Psalm 43:5 – Just what my heart needed to read today! We are finishing up a crazy pre-season, and it has been hard on al of us mentally and of course physically. Playing 16 games in a span of about 31 days is not the easiest to do. Plus on top of that adding a lot of travel in there too. May I consciously remember to look to the one who I need to put all of my HOPE and TRUST in! Thank you Jesus for this beautiful reminder.
God bless,
Megan
