I gotta wrap up the blog. Game day tomorrow! We play at 5:00 p.m. against Edremit which is 10:00 a.m. EST. I will let you know how the game goes. There is no live link to watch the game again unfortunately, but I will keep you posted.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Below are some thoughts I typed out earlier today that I wanted to share with you all :)
The past few days I have thought about the “goodness of the Lord” and what that looks like :)! Sometimes it is hard to recognize God’s goodness. What we as human’s may think is “not good” can actually be good if it is from the Lord. Do we think walking through the fire is good? Do we think climbing a mountain in our personal life is good? Do you think losing a loved one is good? At first thought, I would in my finite mind say “no, none of the situations above ‘are good’’. BUT the neat thing is, we serve a God who is “ALL GOOD”. We serve a God who will never give us more than we can handle. We serve a God who will walk through the fire with us. We serve a God who will climb the mountain with us. We serve a God who will comfort and bring us peace through the loss of a loved one. There are many lessons that we can learn down on this earth.
Look at the life of Jesus. Ultimately he hung on the cross for us? Was it “good” that Jesus gave His life for us? Yes, it was. As a result of Jesus dying on the cross for us He gave us an opportunity to spend eternity with Him. One thing the Lord has taught me recently is, “all is good” when we are following the Lord and seeking after Him, BUT “all will not be easy”. Life is good, but it is not always easy.
As I reflect on the past 25 years of my life, I have had moments that are awesome, and I have had some tough times, but through it all, I can and must say, “God is good”. The Lord spurs me to be a better woman, a better person, someone who is striving to seek the Lord with my whole heart. Is it always easy to maintain a positive attitude in dire situations? Is it always easy to show patience when we want something done right away? No, this life is not always easy, but it is good.
As you continue through this year – 2013, there are going to be times that are great and there are going to be hard times as well as easy times, but may we never forget that God is good, therefore whatever we may face in the days ahead may we always remember and say “God is so so good”. J!!
One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
May we never forget that God holds our tomorrow just like He holds us in the present. Thank you Lord for bringing me through so many different situations. You are the author of peace. You promise to be with us wherever we may go. Thank you for your unfailing love, grace, and mercy.
January 18th - "Jesus Calling"
I AM LEADING YOU ALONG THE HIGH ROAD, but there are descents as well as ascents. In the distance you see snow-covered peaks glistening in the brilliant sunlight. Your longing to reach those peaks is good, but you must not take shortcuts. Your assignment is to follow Me, allowing Me to direct your path. Let the heights beckon you onward, but stay close to Me.
Learn to trust me when things go “wrong.” Disruptions to your routine highlight your dependence on Me. Trusting acceptance of trials brings blessings that far outweigh them all. Walk hand in hand with me through this day. I have lovingly planned every inch of the way. Trust does not falter when the path becomes rocky and steep. Breathe deep draughts of My Presence, and hold tightly to My hand. Together we can make it!
For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 2 Corinthians 4:17
“The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.” Habakkuk 3:19
