Psalm 87:1 “He has set his foundation on the holy mountain…”
This verse got me to thinking…is my foundation in the Lord? Is your foundation in Jesus? I am so thankful that He is my foundation. If Jesus was not the foundation of my life, I don’t know where I would be.
Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”
This verse is so true. You think about being in a relationship with someone. A relationship does require that we share our heart with the other person. Revealing your heart to someone, lets them see who you really are. It is important that we allow God to shape and mold our hearts, so that we may be a reflection of Him!
1 Timothy 3:16 “Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.
If you look at the verse above, describing Jesus, it is pretty amazing. First, Jesus appeared in the form of man. He took on flesh and dwelt among us (he humbled himself). Second, the Holy Spirit vindicated Jesus. Paul was saying, that Jesus was proved blameless (vindicated) by the Holy Spirit. Third, Jesus was seen by angels. If you think about it, he was seen by angels at his birth, in the wilderness (Matt. 4:11), when he was arrested (Matt. 26:50-52), and in Jesus’ resurrection (John 20:11-12). Fourth, Jesus was preached among the nations. Jesus offers salvation to all people groups (John 3:16). Salvation through Jesus is needed by all of us and he offers it to every single one of us. Fifth, Jesus was believed on in the world. Isn’t it amazing that people throughout the entire world believe in Jesus…how awesome is that? Sixth, Jesus was taken up in glory. Once Jesus paid the death for our sins down here on earth, he was taken up to glory and right now he sits next to the Father.
