Today we (Jo, Lindsay, Sha, and myself) went to the grocery store in Ankara. We had to take a taxi to get there. City driving is always interesting, but especially overseas. While we were on our way to Armada (the mall where the store is in), the driver pulled out a picture of a car wreck. It was his car that he used to have before he got in the wreck...crazy!! Armada is a huge mall that has all kinds of stores in it. Guess what it has in it for all of you coffee lovers? It has a Starbuck's! I'm not a coffee drinker, but if I ever want a taste of home, I can always go there :) So, I didn't get any pictures of the gorcery store, but I will make sure I g some point for sure!
We had practice this afternoon to prepare for our game tomorrow. Practice was about an hour and a half. We went over some zone defense and offense and also did some positional work. We also watched film before practice. Film over here consists of watching either a half or full game without many stops (nothing like college or WNBA).
Our last preseason tournament starts tomorrow and goes through Saturday. All three teams that are coming are in the Turkish League, so I am excited to see how we compare and match up with them. I am ready to start playing some games again :) I will keep you posted on how the games go!
Once practice was done, I came back and rearranged my room and organized it. I figured I better start to get comfortable since I will be living here the next 6 months or so ;) Below I posted a picture of my room!
In the evening I went and ate supper at Cankaya University with some of the girls off the team. On my way back to the apartment I took a few pics of the area. I will post a few at the bottom as well.
