Just wanted to let you know that today has been a great day! We had a morning practice as well as an evening practice.
I wanted to let you know that I may not be able to blog for awhile. I have a busy week ahead. We leave tomorrow to go to Orenburg, Russia and we won't come back to Polkowice until Saturday night (early Sunday morning). We are driving to Berlin, Germany tomorrow morning (leaving at 4:30 a.m.). Then we are taking a plane from Berlin to Moscow, Russia (4 hour flight from Berlin). We will be in the airport for 4 hours in Moscow and then we will have a 2 hour flight to Orenburg from Moscow. The time difference is 5 hours, so by the time we get to Orenburg it is going to be midnight there. On our schedule we were given, we eat supper at 12:30 a.m. - WOW!!
We will play the next day (Wednesday). We will play against Orenburg 7:00 p.m. which will be 8:00 a.m. EST (11 hour time difference total). We will then stay the night in Orenburg and then begin our trek back to Poland on Thursday morning. We will be flying from Orenburg to Moscow, then Frankfurt, then Warsaw. When we get back to Poland Thursday evening we are going to be staying in one of the team's sponsors palaces a couple of nights and then we will travel on Saturday from his palace to play against Torun. We will play against Torun at 5:45 p.m. (11:45 a.m.). After the game we will come back to Polkowice (5 hour trip back to Polkowice on the bus).
Please keep us in your prayers when you think about it. It is going to be a grueling week with travel and 2 games. Also, having to switch time zones by 5 hours will not be easy at all. Pray that the Lord allows our bodies to adapt and that we are able to persevere and endure. I know the Lord will give us strength :)
I am reminded of these verses as we set out for this week of travel and games:
Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
30 Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
I plan to take some pictures on the trip :). I am not sure if I will have internet or not with traveling, hotels, etc. so if you don't hear from me for a few days don't worry. I will update when I can :)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...What's the secret of having a good day? How about waking up and recognizing that we begin each day just as we ended the previous one -- we are in the grip of God's unfailing love. That should make our hearts stir with love and our voices sing with joy. This song should stir God's Spirit within us and lead us to a deep and profound thanksgiving that gladdens all of our days. So rather than waking up tired, cranky, and dreading another day, let this day be a reminder of God's grace in our daily lives and a reminder of God's promises in our hearts. Then, I don't think we're going to have any problem singing the rest of the day!
My Utmost For His Highest:
WOW! This statement is amazing right here. Thank you Lord for going to the cross for me, for everyone!!!
