Today was a good day! I slept in today and then went to church with my sisters. Although we were not able to understand much of what was being sung, said, or shared, it was neat to be in the House of the Lord. So awesome to see people praising the Lord in different languages. As the message was being preached, I was flipping through my Bible a little bit reading different things. I came across these verses from Psalms and wanted to share them with you all:
Psalm 62:5-8
5 Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.
7 My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
8 O my people, trust in him at all times.
Pour out your heart to him,
for God is our refuge.
Loved them!!!

DO NOT LET any set of circumstances intimidate you. The more challenging your day, the more of My Power I place at your disposal. You seem to think that I empower you equally each day, but this is not so. Your tendency upon awakening is to assess the difficulties ahead of you, measuring them against your average strength. This is an exercise in unreality.
I know what each of your days will contain, and I empower you accordingly. The degree to which I strengthen you on a given day is based mainly on two variables: the difficulty of your circumstances, and your willingness to depend on Me for help. Try to view challenging days as opportunities to receive more of My Power than usual. Look to Me for all that you need, and watch to see what I will do. As your day, so shall your strength be.
I wrote this a few days ago and wanted to share it with you all:
As I sit here typing, I am listening to KLOVE and how encouraging it is!! “Oh My God He will not delay…my refuge and strength always…my God will come through always.”
I am thankful that in the midst of struggles, trials, emotional pain, physical pain, abundance, joy, heartbreak, health, etc. that God’s got ME! It has been an interesting couple of months in Turkey for me. I can say that the Lord has taught me a lot. When I first came to Turkey things were going awesome. My teammates are great and still are great. Basketball was going well. I was able to connect with some Americans in the city that I live in – life was grand.
BUT what happens when in a matter of seconds I find myself with a broken foot, overseas, away from the familiar, family, friends, etc. What happens when YOU get the phone call that a loved one has suddenly passed away? What happens when you are bursting with joy because you are celebrating the life of a newborn child who has entered into the world?
THE REALITY of it is, we serve an omnipotent and omniscient God who knows what is going to happen before it happens. He orchestrates it ALL! With this being the month of Thanksgiving, I can’t help but be more mindful of things that I am thankful for.
What are you thankful for? Yes, I have had things happen that may seem “bad” lately. I broke my foot, but through it all may the name of the Lord be praised. I don’t necessarily know why I have gone from one injury to another, but may I continue to lift my hands up to the one who is ALL!! He is my refuge and my strength :)!!! Who AM I to not be thankful in the midst of a trial? Thank you Lord for the “bumps” you place in my life as well as the “flowers” – thankful!!
Well, it is bed for me. We start another week of preparation this week as we look forward to playing Canik this weekend :)!!!
God bless,
Megan
