I was able to sleep in today, go to the beach and do some reading, relax, and then have been baking some desserts for tomorrow nights dinner. I baked some brownies and then I also made some individual shortcakes that we will put strawberries and cool whip on top of. Yum yum :)

Genesis 17/Luke 17
Genesis 17 – God changes Abram and Sarai’s names to Abraham and Sarah. He promises Abraham will be the father of multiple nations. What a special son Isaac was as he would carry on God’s special blessing. Also, what a great reminder that God doesn’t work on our “time table” but rather His. He is capable of causing something to happen in the snap of a finger…God works against all odds! A perfect example is given here in that Abraham and Sarah are going to give birth to a son at the respective ages of 99 and 90.
Luke 17 – What a great reminder for us all that we should take time to thank people around us more often. We all have many things to be thankful for. How neat that the one leper who was healed from his disease took time to go back and thank Jesus. Who is someone we can thank today for what they have done and how they have influenced us in a positive way…maybe it is a parent, teacher, sibling, spouse, significant other?…the words ”THANK YOU” can go a LONG way!! Ultimately may we ever be thankful to Jesus!! The chapter ends with a reminder to be ready for the Lord’s return. We do not know at what time the Lord will come, but we must be ready. I am thankful for my relationship with the Lord. Countless times He has given me the strength to keep going and to persevere.
Last but not least, yesterday was a 1 1/2 years that I have been dating Caleb...time has flown by!! It has been a blessing to be Caleb's girlfriend. The Lord created an incredible man when He made Caleb Thomas. Caleb exemplifies honesty, sincerity, genuineness, thoughtfulness, integrity, encouragement, and most importantly honors the Lord with how he lives his life. I miss him a lot, but so thankful I will be seeing him soon :)!!
I plan on chilling the rest of the evening!
God bless,
Megan
