Hey All,
I hope everyone is having a great week.
The game last night was pretty crazy. We ended up winning on a last second shot. We were down by as many as much as five with a little over a minute to go. Praise the Lord we pulled out the win...it was a sweet victory for sure. That puts our record to 8-6 now, so we are still above .500 which is good :) and currently in fifth place out of twelve teams in the league. This second half of the season will be very challenging as we play teams again, that we have already played once. Any team can win any given night!
Today was a nice and relaxing day! I was able to sleep in a little bit which was nice. This morning and afternoon I did some laundry and then I did some cooking. I had been wanting to try to make a Turkish dish called "Mercimek Kofte". Is is a food I have come to love, so I thought I would try it out. I went to the store this morning and got all of the ingredients to make it. I have to say, it turned out pretty good. I will attach a link at the bottom of the blog, so you can take a look at some pictures I took. If you look at the bottom of the pictures, you can read some of the captions about each picture.
This afternoon I also baked some cookies. One of my teammates invited me and a few other people over for dinner, so I figured I would make some chocolate chip cookies. We had a fun time of fellowship :).
Tomorrow we have practice at 2:00 p.m. We will practice on Saturday as well, and then it is game time against Ceyhan on Sunday.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.— 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...While there are many talented and successful Christians in the world today, they are merely vessels for God's message of grace, hope, and power. Our focus should never be on the container for the message. Instead, what is most important is the integrity of the messenger no matter the situation, so that the message can be seen without distraction. God's power, not our own, is what sustains us; we are simply a vessel, a tool, in the hands of the Lord.
My Utmost For His Highest:
Whenever there are competing concerns in your life, be sure you always put your relationship to God first.
“Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:34). How much trouble has begun to threaten you today? What kind of mean little demons have been looking into your life and saying, “What are your plans for next month— or next summer?” Jesus tells us not to worry about any of these things. Look again and think. Keep your mind on the “much more” of your heavenly Father (Matthew 6:30).
Our Daily Bread:
Left to ourselves, we can make a pretty big mess of things. Then Jesus comes along, like a divine spatula, scrapes us off the floor of our sinful ways, and turns us right side up. And as we follow His right-side-up ways, we discover that turning the other cheek keeps us from getting caught in a brawl, that it is more blessed to give than to receive, and that dying to self is life at its best.
After all, His ways are not our ways (Isa. 55:8), and I’ve come to realize that His ways are always best!
