You know, I had mixed emotions coming over here. I had so enjoyed my time at home this summer. I was able to spend quality time with family and friends, which is priceless. Part of me was ready to get back on the basketball court, but I was torn because it isn’t easy being away from home. As I reflect back on my previous time overseas, my past 2 seasons in Turkey have been extreme growing opportunities for me to grow in my walk with the Lord. I have a lot of down time over here, which gives me multiple opportunities to get in the Word, read books, and listen to messages online from different churches and pastors.
I have found that when I am over here by myself (well not technically because I have the Lord), that the Lord wraps his arms around me and I feel His presence in my life so much. I know that it doesn’t matter whether I am in the States or in a different country – God is always there. But I am so thankful that He meets us where we are. There have been numerous times when I am overseas, that I get homesick or I am ready to see my family and friends, but it is in those times that I realize I have a Heavenly Father who lavishes me with His unending love. God is the ultimate supplier of all my needs. He knows what each of our individual needs our. I think it is pretty cool that the Lord looks at each and every person He creates as a UNIQUE individual. We have all been created in the image of God, but He has given us all different talents, strengths, and weaknesses. The beauty of the Christian community is that we can come alongside one another and offer support, encouragement, and accountability.
I kind of got of on a tangent, so I will get back on track ha. Poland is a phenomenal country. I am nestled in a small, and quaint town with some super nice people. I feel like Polish people seem to be very welcoming and laid back. You do not hear a lot of horns honking on the streets or people shouting outside. It is refreshing to walk outside and feel safe and secure. To be honest, sometimes I feel like I am in the States. The Lord has also blessed me with a wonderful team, coaches, and teammates. The organization of CCC Polkowice is top notch.
I felt like I would write, because I feel like the Lord led me to this place for such a time as this. I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for me in the months ahead. I hope you can follow along as I desire to share with you some of my everyday happenings here in Poland and what the Lord is teaching me through His word.
Walking with Him,
Megan
