When I got home from church, I hung out at my apartment for a little bit, and then I went on a walk with Jo and Lindsay. It was such a beautiful day out today! Believe it or not, you can still wear shorts around here. It was nice to be able to see some different parts of the city. We also walked over to a bazaar and looked around in it. A bazaar is a place where you can barter for things. The place was full of fruits, vegetables, nuts, eggs, clothing, dishes, etc. I took some pictures of some of the things that they were selling (you can check them out under the “pictures” link).
After getting back to the house, I have just been relaxing, doing some reading. I was reflecting over this past week and was reminded of a verse in Isaiah 55:8, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” I would have never, in my wildest dreams, thought that I would go to Turkey. The Lord has blessed me beyond belief, and for that I am extremely thankful to Him. He is worthy to be praised and adored! If we allow the Lord to use us, there is no telling where He might take us J.
I challenge you to take the time to be thankful. There are so many things that we can be thankful for. I am most thankful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who died for my sins, so that I could have eternal life with Him! How amazing is that…breathtaking really? I am also thankful for my family and friends!
I am reminded of the song “Jesus Paid it All”. A few of the words are below:
“I hear the Savior say,
Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all.
Chorus:
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.”
Well, I have another day off tomorrow. Who knows what I will do tomorrow, but I know that I will enjoy my day J. God bless you all!
