I just wanted to share some thoughts with you as I was reflecting and thinking on the bus :). The Lord has taught me over the years the importance of not placing my self-worth in others, but rather in Him. My joy is not found in men but rather in God. I am so thankful for the opportunity I have had to reflect the Lord in all that I do and say. He is the one that sustains me daily and for that I am so thankful. If it wasn't for the Lord I would not be the person that I am today. He is my everything and He is my ALL. God is not a God of happenstance, but he is a deliberate and true God who is sincere in all that He does. He really does want what is best for us. His desire is that we honor and glorify Him with our lives. As a mirror reflects our image, so should how we live be a reflection of the Lord. Who or what are you reflecting in your life? Each day is a new opportunity that we have to be the hands and feet of Jesus. He does not call the qualified, but rather He qualifies the called. He equips us with all that we need. It is when we choose to try to make it through this life on our own that we find dissatisfaction, anxiety, worry, etc.
Do you know where you will go when you die? Jesus gave us the opportunity to spend eternity with Him as a result of him dying on the cross for my sins and yours. I am confident in this, "that he who began a good work in me and you will complete it" (Phil. 1:6). The Lord gives me such a freedom beyond measure. Is your confidence in a stable God who is Lord of all or in an unstable world? I promise you, we will be disappointed if it is the latter. I know where my true hope lies. Do you?
I just want to encourage you and remind you that God is faithful, gracious, trustworthy, merciful, loving, and kind. We would be mistaken to not follow after Him!! I choose to follow the Lord! Who are you following?
I hope you all are having a great week :) Happy hump day to you all!!
