Today has been a great day :)
The physical went well today. I was able to fall asleep a little bit earlier last night, so that was great!!
I was feeling it a little bit today. I woke up at 8:15 a.m. to get ready for my physical. The assistant coach picked me up at 8:45 a.m., and then I got to the hospital around 9:00 a.m. You gotta love being taken from place to place throughout the hospital, never knowing what test you are going to do next. I had to do a breathing test, get seen by a doctor, get my blood taken, give a urine sample, got an EKG of my heart, followed by a “stress test” (involves running on the treadmill and stuff) – I started sweating ha. I then got an ultrasound of my heart as well.
I then was able to eat breakfast, which they fed me at the hospital. I wasn’t allowed to eat anything from last night until this morning, so I was hungry and tired by that point. It is amazing, because I woke up at 8:15 a.m., and that is equivalent to 1:15 a.m. state side. Gotta love getting used to the time change that is for sure, but God has been so gracious!!!
After breakfast, I went to the orthopedic doctor who checked out my knee. That is a standard procedure. He said everything looked great! He took an x-ray of my left knee (the knee I had my ACL surgery on) just for protocol. The team lifted at 9:45, but by the time I was done it was already after 11:00 a.m. I went and watched the girls finish lifting and doing abs and then we all came back to the apartment around noon.
I was able to take a nap this afternoon which helped me to feel a lot better. We had practice at 5 p.m. today, and that lasted about 2 1/2 hours. It was great, because I was wondering how my body would feel and it felt great. We worked on learning some offenses, did a little bit of playing, and then we did quite a bit of conditioning drills along with some shooting.
I think we leave Thursday for a pre-season tournament that I think will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
I hope everyone has had an awesome Monday - I know I have :). Tomorrow we have the morning off and then we are going to practice at 5 p.m. Coach already warned us that it was going to be a lot of up and down running, so to be prepared.
I plan on sleeping in for sure :)!!!
