So the game yesterday against Galatasaray...we ended up losing 75-68. We were up by 18 at half-time, and then Gala came back in the third quarter and ended up cutting the lead significantly and eventually overtaking us in the second half. We still had a chance to beat them with a couple minutes left in the fourth quarter, but we were not able to. I was proud of our team the way we fought, but it would have been nice to get the WIN :). Our team hustled a lot and left everything on the floor. Gala is a much more experienced team than us, so I felt like we gave them a good fight.
Today marks 29 days until home :) It is always nice when the days get to be in the 20's!!! I really can't complain, because I have felt like time has gone by pretty quickly.
What I am THANKFUL for:
I am thankful for the body of believers that we have in Christ as Christians. It is a phenomenal thing to meet Believers all over the world. There is a special bond Christians share, and I am glad to be a part of such an awesome FAMILY :). I have met some awesome Believers here, for which I am thankful for.
Verse of the Day:
I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way - in all your speaking and in all your knowledge.— 1 Corinthians 1:4-5 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...The apostle Paul was amazing. He is writing one of the most problematic churches and yet finds reasons to give thanks for them. First, he is thankful for them because Jesus died for them. When God extends his grace to others, how can we not do the same? Second, he recognizes the areas of their abuse are also a reason to give thanks - they may have distorted it, but when reigned in to honor God, these gifts could bless their church. Even though he has tough words to follow, Paul's example reminds us that a child of God is something to be cherished, even if that child has problems.
My Utmost For His Highest:
Our part in realizing the tremendous meaning of His curse is the conviction of sin. Conviction is given to us as a gift of shame and repentance; it is the great mercy of God. Jesus Christ hates the sin in people, and Calvary is the measure of His hatred.
WOW!! Aren't you thankul the Lord loved us enough to pay our debt for us? Unbelievable.
Our Daily Bread:
Children are God’s precious jewels— help them shine for Christ.
