This evening practice went well!! We are all starting to get sore (I think delayed onset muscle soreness is setting in). It is good though, because our bodies are adjusting to the physical demands we are putting on them. My roommate and I also walk to practice, which is about 2 miles one way, so we walked an extra 6 miles today on top of practice...fun times. After evening practice we had a meeting with FIBA (International Basketball Federation), and they discussed rule changes for the league this year (might I add the entire meeting was in Turkish, so I didn't have a clue what was going on). The meeting lasted 45 minutes and then we were free to go.
Tonight was a night of adjustments here in Turkey :) Jo and I walked back to our apartment, and then I decided to make dinner. I was going to bake some chicken and cook some rice on the stove. Well, I turned the oven on and nothing happened. So, I realized that our oven was not working, but the stove top was, so I made the rice and then I sauteed the chicken on the stove top. After dinner was cooked, Jo decided to take a shower. Well, she went to go light the fire to heat up the water, and it wouldn't light. So, we were both stuck taking cold showers. I then talked to my sisters for awhile and did a load of laundry. I was out in the kitchen and living room talking to my sisters and decided to go back to my room to put away some clothes. I flipped the light on, and my light decided to burn out ha, so no light. I just laughed as it seems like one thing after another tonight has stopped working or won't work. It just reminded me, of how these problems are small in comparison to problems that other people are facing right now, have faced, or are going to face within the next few hours. Thank you Lord for providing for me in other ways :) You see, I was still able to take a shower even though the water was cold, I was still able to fry the chicken rather than bake it, and I am still able to have light in the other parts of the house, just not my room. As you go throughout the day today, look for little things that you might often take for granted and thank the Lord for providing for you :) Thank you Lord for being THE PROVIDER!!

Verse of the day:Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Isaiah 55:6
In truth, God is always close to those who genuinely seek after him. The real problem is that we drift away from him, lose interest, and leave his presence. So let's seek him and receive his grace and his help while we recognize that he alone is the one who truly saves.
My Utmost for His Highest:
Sin is something I am born with and cannot touch— only God touches sin through redemption. It is through the Cross of Christ that God redeemed the entire human race from the possibility of damnation through the heredity of sin. God nowhere holds a person responsible for having the heredity of sin, and does not condemn anyone because of it. Condemnation comes when I realize that Jesus Christ came to deliver me from this heredity of sin, and yet I refuse to let Him do so.
Our Daily Bread:
There is no greater help in our time of need than God. He alone can carry us through the trials and crises of life, and we have His word that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5).
When crisis hits, we don’t have to stand alone. We have the right help. We can depend on God to be the greatest ally we could ever know. Lean on Him.
Our greatest hope here below is to get help from God above.
Have a wonderful day!! Keep in mind who OUR PROVIDER is :)
