We took a tough loss today on the road. You ever have one of those days where you just feel like nothing is going "right"? Well, I have to say I played a game today, and it felt like to me nothing was going "right'. It happens sometimes though, and I am always thankful to get those type of games behind me. I started out the game picking up 2 quick fouls in the first couple of minutes. I would like to say that one of them for sure wasn't, but at the end of the day it was called and so I can't change the referees call. I also started out missing 2 shots that were so close to going in, but didn't...once again I would like to say they did go in, but the ball doesn't lie. The rest of the game just seemed to be one thing after another for me, and yeah all I can say is I am thankful for another game and a new day.
Am I tired mentally and physically right now? Yes, I am all of the above, but I still must strive to persevere and finish strong.
It is interesting to me God's timing, because this morning as I was reading I came across this verse: Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT)
I am thankful for my identity not being in Christ, and thankful that in my "weak" moments (which I have a lot) I know that God is working in me and refining me to be more like Him. I am thankful that despite my not so stellar performance on the court, Jesus loves me regardless.
I hope you all have had a great Saturday :) We have off tomorrow and I am going to go to church which I am so looking forward to! After church I am going to go out with a couple of my teammates to do a little bit of exploring.
Reading for the day:
December 13th
Psalm 50
Psalm 50 – We must give thanks to the Lord at ALL times. This particularly hits home with me right now, because of losing and how I played today, and yet I have so much to be thankful for. I am thankful that I am able to be physically well enough to play a sport that I love.
God bless,
Megan
