This afternoon I read some from the book on Turkey. I had a couple hours to relax, and then I then walked back to campus and ate at the cafeteria for supper. To my surprise, we actually had meat!!! The meat was beef with tomatoes and then we also had the usual rice and soup with bread.
I decided after supper to go to the store. It has been pretty good weather here so far J. The store I went to is about a 10-minute walk. I enjoy walking at night…very relaxing. The part of town I am in is well lit, and I have found that people are pretty friendly over here in Turkey. I feel safe when I am walking to and from places. I got some ingredients to make some cheese and corn chowder. Soup is something that keeps pretty well, so I figured since I had some time tonight I would make it. It was my first time making the chowder, and I must say that it was a success!! I will attach the recipe below for any of you who may want to try it. It is a very simple recipe.
Also, I bought some apple (elma in turkish) tea the other day in the grocery store. Let me just say, the tea is AMAZING!! Not only does it smell good, put it tastes delicious. I am not a fan of regular tea, but I do like the fruit flavored tea.
I am also excited about a present that Linds got me. She gave me a little Turkish to English and English to Turkish Dictionary. So I can learn and practice Turkish words :)!!!
Well, I am off to get some shut-eye J. We have 2 practices tomorrow!!
