Oh and I also rode my bike for the first time to practice. I got the bike awhile back from the team, but just this week got a lock for it from my coach. I rode it this evening to practice, and I must say it cuts down the time from a 20 minute walk to about a 7 minute bike ride. The way I ride is safe, because it is a direct shot to the gym, which is nice. When walking to practice, there is another route that not as direct, but by bike I take the direct route.
I hope you all are having a great week! We have a team meeting tomorrow morning and then practice early in the afternoon. It will be nice to have the afternoon and evening to relax. I plan on finishing up my paper tomorrow, and then another week of school will be complete :). I am always glad to finish another week.
After this week, only 2 more weeks until home. This weekend we do not play until Sunday, so we will be practicing on Saturday as well. We play Mersin this weekend at Mersin. It is actually only a 45 minute drive, but for some reason we are staying in Mersin for the game. So, on Saturday we will head to Mersin to practice and then spend the night.
Game time is Sunday at 4:00 p.m. which is 9:00 a.m. E.S.T.
God bless,
Megan
Verse of the Day:
In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.— Hebrews 1:1-2 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...God is a speaking God. He loves us and has chosen to get his message to us in words. First there were the patriarchs and great prophets. Then there was the written record in the Scriptures. But God's greatest message, his most powerful words, were not really words at all, but a person named Jesus of Nazareth, who is Christ and Lord of all. For us, his Church, to be what he wants us to be, we must not just look at Scripture, we must also look at him. He is the key to understanding what Scripture means and how it is to be lived.
My Utmost For His Highest:
Christian perfection is not, and never can be, human perfection. Christian perfection is the perfection of a relationship with God that shows itself to be true even amid the seemingly unimportant aspects of human life.
Thoughts about myself hinder my usefulness to God. God’s purpose is not to perfect me to make me a trophy in His showcase; He is getting me to the place where He can use me. Let Him do what He wants.
Our Daily Bread:
Even now as believers we can experience a time of refreshing by quieting our hearts in a devotional time of prayer and Bible reading. When we spend time alone with the Lord, we can experience His peace and joy which renew us in spirit. Aren’t you thankful for these daily times of spiritual refreshment?
A Prayer: Lord, I need my spirit refreshed and
renewed today. Speak to me through Your Word that I
might hear Your heart, and help me to share my heart
with You in prayer. Amen.
When we draw near to God, our minds are refreshed and our strength is renewed.
