Today was a busy but a good day. We had lifting this morning. After lifting I came back and relaxed and took a nap. This afternoon we had practice. I enjoyed being able to play 5 on 5 today in practice. We haven't done that as much with this new coach; with me not playing as much this season, it is nice to play 5 on 5 from time to time besides the game. I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Tomorrow we leave for Adana. We will play on Saturday in Adana and then fly back in the evening.
I love reading and do a lot of reading while I am overseas. I am reading a book by Pete Wilson called "What Keeps You Up At Night". Here are a few encouraging quotes I want to share with you that stuck out to me so far:
"You can lift up your eyes and peer intently at Him. You can remember that your help comes from God--not from you, from God. And God is bigger than anything you are facing right now, no matter what it is."
"One of the devil's most successful tactics is isolation. If Satan can convince you that you are all alone with no help, he can twist your perception to make you believe almost anything he wants."
"We are most often focused on what is happening to us, but God is more concerned about what is happening in us."
"It takes a very special type of heart to keep believing during the hard times. But it helps to remember that God specializes in the unexpected. He is into the unpredictable, the unlooked for. He is the original author of the surprise ending."
If you are looking for a great book to read I would not hesitate to pick this book up at the Christian book store.
God bless,
Megan
