How are you all doing? Today we had an afternoon practice so we got done pretty early in the evening which was really nice. I decided I was going to make some Mexican for dinner tonight. That can be hard trying to make Mexican in Turkey, but I have to say I think it was a success. I made a chicken burrito. I cut up chicken, seasoned it, then added fresh tomato, peppers, and onions and sautéed everything together for a little bit. I then put cheese in a tortilla and added some of the chicken mixture and rolled it up to make a burrito. The next step was to put it in the oven for about 15 minutes and then it was ready to eat! I will post a picture at the bottom of my blog.
Tomorrow we have practice in the afternoon again, but a little bit later, as well as film...then it is game day on Sunday afternoon.
I am reading through the book of Jeremiah and today I read the 29th chapter of Jeremiah. How fitting that a day after Thanksgiving I come across Jeremiah 29:11. I love this verse in the Bible...it is one of my favorites and has been for a long time. The verse says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
What an encouragement this verse can be to all of us! This verse doesn't promise us that life will always be easy or that there won't be difficult times, but it does promise us that the Lord has our best interest in mind and He already knows our plans. We can rest in an ALL-KNOWING God, because He has already gone before us.
A challenge for you and for me is to maintain our thankful spirit and attitude. As we come to a close of another month soon and the end of Thanksgiving", may we be ever mindful of the One who paid the ultimate price for us to be able to spend eternity with Him. How are you living your life? Who are you living your life for?
God bless,
Megan
