The museum was quite the experience! On the way to the museum it started pouring down rain, so we all got soaked! Thankfully the rain stopped once we got there :) We took a couple hours to go through the museum, and then Dila and I went to Anka Mall. One of my teammates sister was modeling at the Mall, so Dila wanted to stop by to support her. I must say it was my first time attending a modeling event...it was interesting to say the least.
After the modeling event, Dila and I ate at Arby's...yes that is right! I did not know that Ankara had an Arby's, but they do :) It is located in the Anka Mall, and it doesn't surprise me, because the Anka Mall is huge!!! After supper we both needed to pick up some groceries, so we went to the 5 M Migros in the mall. The grocery store kind of reminded me of a Walmart...it was big and crowded! I got back to my apartment around 6:30 p.m., and just have been relaxing :)
Oh I also wanted to say, for those of you who clicked on the link I posted yesterday to listen to a song, it was the wrong link. I meant to post a song by Kutless, but my sister Moriah informed me that I posted a wedding dance video. I guess it is a new thing for the bridal party to dance down the aisle before the bride appears. I will say though, the wedding video is pretty funny :) I fixed the link this morning, so if you want to go back to yesterdays blog and check out the song for real this time you can!
Verses of the day:
Psalm 89:1 “I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever.”
Lord, thank you for showing us what true love is. I can only imagine what heaven will be like. We are going to SING of the wonderful, majestical, omniscient, omnipresent Savior J!!
Proverbs 6:23 “For these commands are a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life.”
This section of the chapter addresses how we are to obey our parents. The phrase, “the corrections of discipline are the way to life” is very true. If we did not listen to correction, or if we were never disciplined, would we be obedient? When there is no direction, failure occurs because we do not know in what direction to go. We need to keep open minds are realize that we will never come to the place where we have arrived. There are always things we can work on individually in our hearts and minds.
1 Timothy 5:24-25 “The sins of some men are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them. In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not cannot be hidden.”
This verse is a great reminder to not get caught up in judging other people. Lord, hold captive my wayward thoughts and help me to remain disciplined. The Lord is our ultimate judge, and the best!
The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren – Day 14
“WHEN GOD SEEMS DISTANT”
Point to Ponder: “God is real, no matter how I feel.”
Bible Verse: Hebrews 13:5
“The deepest level of worship is praising God is spite of pain, thanking God during a trial, trusting him when tempted, surrendering while suffering, and loving him when he seems distant.” p. 107
God bless you all :)
