Happy President's Day! How is everyone doing?
Today was another relaxing day for me. My last of two off days here in Adana. It is amazing how quick "off days" go ha. But, the days must keep on going :). Speaking of days, only TWO days until my sisters arrive. I cannot wait :). One of my friends from Ankara is going to be down here for a little bit of the time while my sisters are here so she can meet them...will be a fun time.
Tomorrow morning I will meet up with my friend from Ankara, and then she will see my sisters on Thursday.
This afternoon I decided to make some soup. I had frozen some of the Turkey from Thanksgiving, so I pulled it out and used some of it for the soup. I found a recipe online, but then tweaked it by adding more veggies to it. I also didn't have chicken stock, so I made due with some chicken bouillon cubes :) I then added canned tomatoes, frozen corn, fresh carrots, fresh onion, and fresh squash. I was impressed with how the soup turned out. After I put some in my bowl, I sprinkled a little bit of cheese on top :)
Well, I hope everyone has a great week!!

We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your Name is near; men tell of your wonderful deeds.— Psalm 75:1 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse..."What a wonderful God we serve!" More than just the words of a song, these words are true beyond our understanding. For God to be so powerful, vast, and marvelous and yet still know us and bless us with his personal attention and care is beyond understanding. Yet God sent Jesus to remind us that he is not only God Almighty; he is also Immanuel, God with us!
My Utmost For His Highest:
There are times when it seems as if God watches to see if we will give Him even small gifts of surrender, just to show how genuine our love is for Him. To be surrendered to God is of more value than our personal holiness. Concern over our personal holiness causes us to focus our eyes on ourselves, and we become overly concerned about the way we walk and talk and look, out of fear of offending God. “. . . but perfect love casts out fear . . .” once we are surrendered to God (1 John 4:18). We should quit asking ourselves, “Am I of any use?” and accept the truth that we really are not of much use to Him. The issue is never of being of use, but of being of value to God Himself. Once we are totally surrendered to God, He will work through us all the time.
Our Daily Bread:
Arguments happen. But let’s make sure they are resolved. Grudges are a burden too heavy to carry.
Arguments can lead to grudges,
Which, if left, will cause a rift;
But if we bring resolution,
Our relationships won’t drift. —Sper
A grudge is one thing that doesn’t get better when it’s nursed.
