We lost a close won 77-75!! Shew you gotta have a bad taste in your mouth when you walk away from such a close loss. We were up the majority of the game and lost it at the end of the game.
Tomorrow we have off which is nice. I plan on sleeping in, relaxing, and maybe going to the beach. When I got home from the game tonight I was alerted to something that the Big South Conference is doing. They are coming up with All-Decade Teams. The Big South is celebrating 30 years, so in honor of that they will be dong 3 decade teams...the last one being from 2000-2009. In that era you can vote for my good friend Katie Feenstra Mattera, Krystal Tharp Bechtold, and myself all hailing from Liberty.
Here is something from the Big South Website about it:
"As part of the Big South's 30th Anniversary celebration in 2013-14, the League invites fans to vote on its All-Decade Teams. Balloting for Women's Basketball is now open, and fans may submit votes for each All-Decade Team one time. Fan votes will comprise 20 percent of the overall total in determining the Big South's All-Decade Teams. Women's Basketball became a Conference sport in 1986-87, and candidates were determined based on being at least one of the following: 1) Was a multiple All-Conference honoree; 2) Was named an All-American; 3) Is a member of the Big South Conference Hall of Fame; 4) Student-athletes must be a college graduate or left their respective institution in good academic standing; 5) Won a Conference Championship as a coach and/or was voted Conference Coach of the Year; and 6) Players of the Year, Tournament MVPs and First-Team All-Conference honorees will be among the candidate pool for the 1983-89 All-Decade Teams. Candidates that participated in two different decades have been placed in a specific decade based on consultation from member institutions. Member institutions also had final determination in regards to inclusion of student-athletes and coaches. Fan voting for Women's Basketball is open through Sunday, Feb. 2."
I would definitely vote for my friend Katie Feenstra Mattera and Krystal Tharp Bechtold between the years of 2000-2009...I happen to also be on the ballot too. I hesitated to put this on my blog, but knew that there would be some of you who read this and would be interested in it!!

Genesis 16/Luke16
Genesis 16 – I find it interesting that once again there is an example of a woman encouraging her husband to do something that goes against what God had planned. We see this happen with Adam and Eve as Eve not only partook of the forbidden fruit but then she encouraged Adam to do so as well. In the previous chapter the Lord promised Abram that he would have many descendants. Yes, it is pretty crazy to think how “old” Abram was as well as his wife, but God’s promises are always true. In this chapter Abram’s wife Sarai convinces Abram to sleep with her servant Hagar so that he can have children. Hagar does end up getting pregnant, but then flees to the dessert where the Lord reaches out to her and promises to take care of her and her son…but He does say that her son Ishmael will be a wild man and will live in hostility with his relatives. What an opportunity we have as woman to encourage men to take a stand for what they know is right…whether this be with family members, a boyfriend, husband, brother, etc. In a godly marriage the woman is to be a support and encouragement to the husband…spurring them on to live in a way that honors and pleases the Lord!
Luke 16 – This is an incredible chapter. There are so many lessons to be learned here. In vs. 10 it says, “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” I love this because there are times when we may feel like “is it worth it to live in a God honoring way each and every day doing the little things right like we should?” and the answer is a resounding “YES”!! God calls us to live a humble life ultimately striving to please Him not just in the “BIG” things of life, but also in what may seem like the mundane or “SMALL” things of life. God knows each of our hearts.
God bless,
Megan
