We made it safe and sound to Istanbul. I woke up this morning at 3:30 this morning, because we had to leave at 4:15 a.m. for the airport. Our flight left at 6:00 a.m., so we got to Istanbul a little before 8:00 a.m. It was great to be able to get to the hotel and chill a little bit. We had breakfast as a team, and then we had a few hours to chill before we left for practice. I was able to sleep for about an hour which was nice!
Practice went well. We walked through some of the other team's plays and then we did shooting. It was a lighter practice today because we had just come off of waking up super early for the flight. We came back to the hotel and had lunch. After lunch we had about 5 hours to kill until supper, so my roommate and I headed to Istinye Park where there was a really nice mall. It was awesome to be able to get away from the hotel and not be stuck in our room the whole afternoon. The mall had all kinds of shops and of course it has a Starbucks which was great!
We came back and had dinner as a team around 8:30 p.m. Now I am chilling for a few hours, before I hit the sack. Tomorrow we play at 2:00 p.m. against Besiktas. I may play a few minutes, but coach wants to make sure I am ready for next weekend's game against Botas. So, I probably won't play tomorrow but I may for a little bit.
If you are interested in watching the game, you can watch it at this link:

*We play at 8:00 a.m. EST and the game will be the Samsun vs. Besiktas game - ENJOY!!
November 2nd - "Jesus Calling"
“GROW STRONG in the Light of My Presence. Your weakness does not repel Me. On the contrary, it attracts My Power, which is always available to flow into a yielded heart. Do not condemn yourself for your constant need of help. Instead, come to Me with your gaping neediness; let the Light of My Love fill you.
A yielded heart does not whine or rebel when the going gets rough. It musters the courage to thank Me even during hard times. Yielding yourself to My will is ultimately an act of trust. In quietness and trust is your strength.”
WHAT AM I THANKFUL FOR? Day #2
I am thankful for an awesome family! I could not ask for a more loving and supportive family. I am thankful for godly parents who have raised me and nurtured me in such a way that I have been shown the TRUTH. Thankful for the example that they have had in my life! I love you MOM and DAD :) Also, I am so thankful for my siblings. I could not ask for a better brother and sister-in-law or better sisters. I am so proud of you for all that you have accomplished, but most importantly thankful that your ultimate desire is to Honor and glorify the Lord! I <3 YOU!!
I am also thankful for my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. God has placed you all in my life for a reason, and for that I am thankful. I am thankful for the influences that you have had on my life. I love you all!
Well, it is bed for me here soon. I will let you know how the game goes tomorrow. Tomorrow evening after the game we will fly back to Samsun, so I will update you when I get back to my apartment.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Thankful,
