This evening I have mainly been chilling. I came home and put some fish and potatoes in the oven. I then chilled a little bit and then made a loaf of banana bread for some of my friends from the Canik team. Tanja came over for a little bit to chat and Juliana made some Columbian hot chocolate - YUM!!
I just listened to a message online, and honestly just chilling the rest of the night which is nice to do. Here are the notes from the message I listened to. The pastor is staring a series preaching through the book of Mark.

Intro to Mark
Why study through a gospel?
“The whole story of the world – and how we fit into it – is most clearly understood through a careful, direct look at the story of Jesus.” Time Keller
We all have heart issues.
· What happened in Connecticut is not a political issue, but a heart issue.
A four-fold perspective of the life of Jesus and who He is.
Who is Mark?
· Contemporary of Jesus
· Referred to in the Bible as John Mark – Acts 12:12
· Acts 13:13 – John left them
· 2 Tim. 4:9-11 – “Pick up Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service.”
· Wrote the book of Mark from the city of Rome
1. For the follower of Jesus, “Failure is not final”!
2. Jesus followers often experienced conflict, but resolution of conflict soon follows.
3. Forgiveness has powerful results.
Why did he write Mark?
Mark 1:1
Tomorrow we have practice at 2:30 p.m., so I will be sleeping in again. This morning I had to wake up early to run someone to the airport, so I didn't get too much sleep last night, but it is okay. Crazy that the month of January is dwindling down so fast - wow!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful Tuesday. If you didn't, remember that God has orchestrated the events of today, and even though things may not have gone according to your plan, they did according to His. May we remember to rest in His everlasting arms...rest in His Peace.
Crazy that my friend Juliana leaves to go back to the States in a few days. Kind of hard to believe that 2 weeks has gone by that fast. I am thankful that time is going by fast, because then that means I am home in just a few weeks. Thankful that Juliana could come over here and experience my "life" in Turkey for a few days.

STRIVE TO TRUST ME in more and more areas of your life. Anything that tends to make you anxious is a growth opportunity. Instead of running away from these challenges, embrace them, eager to gain all the blessings I have hidden in the difficulties. If you believe that I am sovereign over every aspect of your life, it is possible to trust Me in all situations. Don’t waste energy regretting the way things are or thinking about what might have been. Start at the present moment—accepting things exactly as they are—and search for My way in the midst of those circumstances.
Trust is like a staff you can lean on, as you journey uphill with me. If you are trusting in Me consistently, the staff will bear as much of your weight as needed. Lean on, trust, and be confident in Me with all your heart and mind.
