For supper I baked some chicken with Italian dressing drizzled over it. I also cooked some pasta and added the chicken and salad dressing to it...it was really good!
Tomorrow we practice in the morning. Coach told us today that he is giving us Friday, Saturday, and Sunday OFF! We do not play this weekend, so we get 3 days off...crazy. So, Linds, Dila, and I are going to Antalya. I have heard Antalya is gorgeous. I looked online and the weather is supposed to be in the mid to high 70's all weekend :). I encourage you to google it and check out the pictures of Antalya online. Of course I will be taking some of my own pictures too ;). I am looking forward to a nice little get a way. I figure it will be my only trip to sight see a little bit, but also get some sun! Dila is from Antalya, so we will be staying with her family while we are down there.
We will be flying down to Antalya tomorrow afternoon after practice, and then coming back to Ankara on Sunday by way of bus. The flight down will be about an hour and a half, and then the bus trip back will be about 8 hours. I may or may not blog while I am down there, I will just have to play it by ear. I thought I would give you all a heads up in case I am missing in action for a few days.
I hope you all have a great rest of the week...I know I will :)!!!!
Verses of the day:
Psalm 107:8-9 “Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”
Numerous times in this chapter the phrase “give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love” appears. I was thinking about the word “unfailing”. Jesus’ love NEVER fails!! We as carnal human beings fail time and time again, but the Lord never does. The Lord is the only one who can truly meet us where we are and give us everything we need.
Proverbs 24:16a “for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again…”
We will stumble and fall many times, but we need to get back up again!
Hebrews 8:11-12 “No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember sins no more.”
Jesus promises here to forgive our sins. Forgiveness is the key to redemption! We do not deserve the Lord’s forgiveness, but he gives it freely.
The Purpose Driven Life – Day 32
“USING WHAT GOD GAVE YOU”
Point to Ponder: “God deserves my best.”
Bible Verse: 2 Timothy 2:15
“You will never know what you are good at until you try.” p. 251
“Satan will try to steal the joy of service from you in a couple of ways: by tempting you to compare your ministry with others, and by tempting you to conform your ministry to the expectations of others. Both are deadly traps that will distract you from serving in the ways God intended. Whenever you lose your joy in ministry, start by considering if either one of these temptations is the cause.” p. 253
Have a great rest of the day!
