We scrimmaged the boys team last night! It was fun to be able to play rather than practice. After a whole week of two a days, we were all ready for a change of pace. I do feel like our team defense was a lot better than it has been. It is hard to compare, because we were playing boys, but hopefully when we start our games back up, we will have improved in our defense.
After the scrimmage last night our team decided to go bowling! I have not been too many times in my life, but I enjoy it J. The thing that caused me not to go much in the States, is that a lot of bowling alleys are very smoky! We went to a bowling place in Bilkent. The Bowling Alley was really nice! It was not smoky, and they also had pool tables and arcade games. There were ten of us that went bowling, so we did two teams of five and competed against one another! My team ended up coming on the short end by a few points! We had a lot of FUN and took some great pictures to capture the memories J. *I will post some pictures for you all to check out tomorrow!
This morning I went to Kizilay to meet up with a friend from church. I met up with her at her apartment and then we walked a little ways to a nice coffee shop that she had found the other day! They played American music, and the inside reminded me a lot of what a coffee shop looks like in the States. I ordered a hot chocolate that was coconut flavored…it was so good!! We hung out at the coffee shop for a few hours talking and even played some cards (rummy).
I came back to my apartment around 2:00 p.m. On the way home I picked up some ingredients to make lemon poppyseed bread. They do not have lemon extract over here, so I found online that you can use lemon peel instead. I must say that the bread turned out great!
Tonight I went to a cocktail party for the All-Star game. Four other of my teammates are participating in different events at the All-Star game as well. Sha and Damla are doing a skills competition that involves dribbling. Lindsay and Dilek are doing a three point shooting contest, and then I am playing in the All-Star game.
Verse of the day:
Psalm 47:2-4 “How awesome is the Lord Most High, the great King over all the earth! He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved.”
Tomorrow is the All-Star Game! I will let you know how it goes :)
Have a great night!!! :)
