Verse of the day:
Proverbs 21:30-31 “There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord. The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.”
The Lord is always victorious :) We need to put all of our hope, faith, and trust in HIM!!
The other night I was laying in bed thinking about different things. I am living on the second floor of an apartment building. I was thinking about how many floors were above me. I realized that I was putting faith and trust in the builders who built the building that they made sure it was structurally solid, and would continue to stay that way. So many things in life require faith and trust. Even when it comes down to putting our trust in JESUS!
Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews chapter 11 is a whole chapter dealing with the subject of faith. The Lord reviews examples of faith: Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and the list goes on and on. Hebrews 11:6 then says, "And without FAITH it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
I know there are some people that say, “I just can’t believe in God, because that takes a lot of FAITH.” But if you think about it, an average person exercises faith and trust in things daily. Think about when you sleep, you are trusting your bed is going to hold you. When you wake up and get ready, you are trusting that you have electricity to see. When you leave your house you are trusting and have faith that your car will start. When you arrive at work, you are trusting that you still have your job. The list could go on and on. The thing about the list above is that some day or another every single one of the things above wears out, breaks downs, stops running, etc. The great thing about the Lord is, He will never leave or forsake us! Being in the palm of God’s hand is not always a comfortable place to be, but the BEST place to be.
Proverbs 19:23 “THE FEAR OF THE LORD LEADS TO LIFE; THEN ONE RESTS CONTENT, UNTOUCHED BY TROUBLE.”
Do you want to be content? I know we all strive to be content. When we put our FAITH in the Lord He promises contentment!!
Have a great night!!
