We won our first Euroleague game tonight against Familia Schio (from Italy) - YAY!! It was a nail biter, and we ended up winning 68-66. We were all super excited that we got our first win in Euroleague. It was a historical win too, as this is CCC's first season in Euroleague. After the game, Britt and I went to N and N and got some dinner, then finished off the meal by going to McDonald's to get some ice cream.
Tomorrow we have one evening practice at 6:00 p.m. Brittany leaves tomorrow evening to go back to the USA. We have had a blast hanging out :). Hard to believe she has been here ten days.
Verse of the Day:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.— 1 John 1:9 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...God is faithful! Scripture declares it. We've experienced it. In fact, we cherish this promise from God, especially when things don't turn out as they "should." So when Satan does trip us with temptation and when we are weak or rebellious, isn't it comforting that we can be forgiven and made clean again? God wants us to call our sin what he calls it. (To "confess" literally means to "say the same" thing about it as God does!) Incredibly, God does more than forgive us. He also cleanses us. We're made new, fresh, pure, and holy once again! That is more than being faithful and just; that's being downright gracious.
My Utmost For His Highest:
“The Lord does not give me rules, but He makes His standard very clear. If my relationship to Him is that of love, I will do what He says without hesitation. If I hesitate, it is because I love someone I have placed in competition with Him, namely, myself.”
This is really good stuff. Do you find yourself hesitating at times to do what you know the Lord would have you do? It is time we step outside of ourselves, and seek after the Lord who desires our sole attention. No one should ever take precedence over the Lord.
