This afternoon I took a shower and then went with Jo and Lyndra to the mall. We went to KFC for supper, which was good. I got a chicken wrap that definitely hit the spot!
This evening I chatted with Lyndra for awhile. Dila came over and painted Jo's fingernails and my toenails...thanks Dila :)!!!!
Verses of the day:
Psalm 70:5 “Yet I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay.”
It is so comforting for me to know, that God is a God of the poor and the needy. He does not show favorites, but instead treats everyone equal. He delivers and helps anyone!
Proverbs 15:16 “Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.”
I am so thankful that I have the Lord. I think about how I am over here in Turkey – in a foreign land, far from home, away from family and friends…yet the Lord sustains me and He gives me enough for each day! I would take being poor any day and having a relationship with my Lord, than being rich and still feeling empty.
Proverbs 15:33 “The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.”
True wisdom comes from the Lord! I mean if you think about it, the Lord is the only one who knows everything. Jesus is the perfect example of humility! Humility is something that I desire to possess and display each day, but know that it is not always easy (only with the Lord)!!!
James 2:13 “…mercy triumphs over judgment”
This whole entire chapter was great! The four words above though stuck out to me. I am so thankful that “mercy triumphs over judgment.” Jesus is the perfect example of this. He showed mercy for us by dying on the cross for our sins, so that we would be forgiven of our sins. He chose to show us mercy and took the judgment that we deserved onto his own shoulders…AMAZING!!
Gnight!

P.S. I thought I would post a pic of the cheesecake I made over here yesterday :)
