Today we finally got to open up the season in the Turkish League. We played Osmaniye today at 5:00 p.m. What a blessing to finally get the first game under our belt. We won the game, which was awesome 67-57!
Writing before I got back to the apt...
A long night of travel ahead with a 2 hour bus ride to Samsun and then a flight from Samsun to Istanbul. Once we land in Istanbul we have about an hour or so to drive to our apartment since we don’t live near the airport. I am looking forward to getting back in my own bed for a few days. Our next game is on Saturday against Galatasaray!
Will write more when I get back to the apartment…
We made it back safe and sound to Istanbul! It is 3:00 a.m. and it is bed time for me :) We have tomorrow off which is so so nice!
Reading for Today:
October 30th
Judges 7/Matthew 28
Judges 7 - God allows Gideon to weed down his army from 10,000 to 300 men. God delivers the Midianites over to Gideon and his army. This story shows that when we are in the Lord’s will He promises to take care of us no matter what the odds are. The Lord doesn’t always promise us “victory” over our earthly foes, but when we are striving to please Him we will always be victorious from a “Heavenly” standpoint.
Matthew 28 – Jesus rises from the dead! How interesting to me thought that He did not do it when He knew people would be there to check on Him, but rather He did it in an inconspicuous and humble way. Amazing that the guards were encouraged to be dishonest, and yet thank the Lord for His truth and how He makes sure that people know actually happened.
God bless,
Megan
