How is everyone doing today: I know right about now I have some very happy parents. They just finished their last day of school before Christmas break. Congrats Dad and Mom for completing the week. For all of you who are teachers out there, enjoy your breaks!! Growing up being a teacher's kid, I know all the work that you all put forth.
Today we only had one practice. I slept in and then I did some baking for a family and a friend. It was raining most of the day today, so I stayed inside most of the time. Tomorrow we play against Wisla who is the top team in Poland right now. They are undefeated in the Polish League and they are #1 in their pool in Euroleague. It is going to be a challenge for our team tomorrow, but we do have the capability to win. One thing I have realized, any time you step out on the court, you have an opportunity to WIN :).
We play Wisla tomorrow at 11:45 a.m. EST. The game is not on TV that I am aware of, but you can follow live stats.
I hope everyone has a great weekend ahead!
Also want to say CONGRATS to my friend Brittany for completing another rotation in med school :)
6 days!!! :)
Verse of the Day:
Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.— Hebrews 2:18
Thoughts on Today's Verse...Jesus was tempted like we are! He suffered like we do! God in his grace made sure that we have someone in heaven who knows what it is like to face suffering and mortality. This knowledge is not only omniscient wisdom. Jesus also guarantees that heaven's knowledge includes human experience. Aren't you thankful that Jesus knew suffering and mortality and that he now lives to redeem, to bless, and to ultimately help us mortals?
My Utmost For His Highest:
Don’t become a cripple by wrestling with the ways of God, but be someone who wrestles before God with the things of this world, because “we are more than conquerors through Him . . .” (Romans 8:37).
We should never try to fight against God. We are not going to get anywhere. But when we step onto the Lords side and fight with Him (His ways are always the best), we will find that we will succeed at whatever He wants us to do. The key phrase is “we will succeed at whatever HE WANTS US TO DO”. We are “more than conquerors” when we are following Jesus.
