Please be praying that everything goes smoothly for her! She is looking forward to getting the surgery behind her that is for sure. I am going to miss her, but I know that there is a reason that the Lord allowed our paths to cross, and also a reason why He has allowed her to have this injury. Lord willing, our paths will cross again :)!! One neat thing about playing basketball overseas is being able to meet a lot of people from different countries or even people from my country...so neat :) Andja and I definitely connected throughout the season and I consider her a great friend.
Tomorrow we have practice at 2:00 p.m. I will probably sleep in a little bit, and then chill some before having to leave for practice. I am looking forward to getting through this week of practices :). Then, next week we have 2 games so it will make the week go by faster.
13 days until HOME :)!!!!
I was doing some thinking earlier tonight and thought I would type out a few of my thoughts:
“GOOD BUT NOT EASY!”
As I think about the last 4 years of my life since college, I can see the Lord’s hand on my life. I can say that it has been a good 4 years, but it hasn’t been easy. The Lord has blessed me to be able to play a sport that I love as a livelihood. He has allowed me to see the world, meet new people, experience new things, and the list could go on and on. There have been some sad moments, and there have been numerous joyous moments. In this life, there are going to be ups and downs, but through it all we can say “it is good”. I think of the verse in James where it says, “consider it pure joy my brothers when you experience trials”. Do you “consider it joy” when you are walking through a rough time or walking through a valley? I can honestly say, that every time I am in a valley in my personal life, I experience God’s perfect peace that is more than I could ever ask or imagine. His perfect peace that He gives is what allows me to be joyful in the midst of everything!
So, my life so far on this earth has been good but not always easy. I encourage you to find JOY in the midst of trials…not only on the mountaintops but most importantly in the valleys.
December 17th - "Jesus Calling"
COME TO ME with your gaping emptiness, knowing that in Me you are complete. As you rest quietly in My Presence, My Light within you grows brighter and brighter. Facing the emptiness inside you is simply the prelude to being filled with My fullness. Therefore, rejoice on those days when you drag yourself out of bed, feeling sluggish and inadequate. Tell yourself that this is a perfect day to depend on Me in childlike trust. If you persevere in this dependence as you go through the day, you will discover at bedtime that Joy and Peace have become your companions. You may not realize at what point they joined you on your journey, but you will feel the beneficial effects of their presence. The perfect end to such a day is a doxology of gratitude. I am He from whom all blessings flow!
I loved this devotional today! May we remember to REST QUIETLY IN THE LORD'S PRESENCE daily!
Have a great evening! Bed for me soon.
