I have been continuing to stay busy with different things. I am doing a Bible study with a friend, have been helping here and there with things for another friend, working out, and spending time with my family and friends.
This past weekend I went to Atlanta to spend Memorial Day Weekend with a friend and her husband (Katie and Todd Mattera). I played with Katie for a little bit in San Antonio. It was a fun time of catching up. While I was down there I was also able to meet up with Dila, a former Turkish teammate. I also got to see Rachel Mason and her little guy Mark. I played with Rachel at Liberty for 2 years. It is so awesome to be able to meet up with old friends. What a neat blessing :).
Last night I went for a nice walk around Wyndhurst which is an area near where I live. It is so relaxing to me to be able to walk in the cool of the evening when everything is quiet and peaceful. As I was walking last night and reflecting on the goodness of the Lord, I was memorizing a verse from Philippians which says:
"And now dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." Philippians 4:8
I got to thinking about this verse. You know, how many times do you or I find ourselves thinking about something that maybe doesn't fall into the categories above. When we aren't thinking on things from above, that is when we can start to let worry, fear, or doubt creep into our hearts and lives. God didn't give us a spirit of timidity but rather of a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7). My challenge to you and myself is to think on things that are good.
As a lot of you look forward to a summer break from school, I encourage you to "fix your thoughts on what is true". For those of you who will be working through the summer, continue to persevere and stay the course. God never promised this life to be easy, but He did promise to help us through it.
Well, I am headed to hike the LU monogram. For those of you who don't know what that is, I will take some pictures on the hike :).
God bless you all,
Megan
