We got in to Istanbul around noon today. We ate lunch right away and then had a few hours to relax before we headed out for practice. Practice went well. It is crazy how bad the traffic is here in Istanbul. It took us 45 minutes to get to the gym that was probably only 10 miles or so away...gotta love big cities. I think I will stick with smaller ones :)...Lynchburg suits me just fine!
After practice we drove back to the hotel, showered, and then went down for dinner. Dinner was AMAZING! We first started off with salads...normal. Then, we were served an egg roll type thing for an appetizer. Let me say, it wasn't just like any egg roll, it was filled with veggies and so GOOD!!! :) The chef even makes the sweet chili type sauce you can buy in the States daily. It reminded me of an appetizer from Cheesecake Factory...YUM. The main course did not disappoint either. We had steak (and when I mean steak...it was legit) and a mushroom sauce over the steak, along with pasta. For dessert to top off the great meal, we had chocolate mousse...so good. I left the table stuffed, but satisfied :)
We have a few hours of rest and relaxation before it is time to turn the lights out.
Tomorrow we play at 3:30 p.m. and then will head home after the game. It will be a late night tomorrow night, so I am not sure I will blog. But, I promise to post an update on Monday of how the game went. I will also let you all know who we will be matched up with in playoffs as well :).
God bless,
Megan

Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.— 1 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...Why would Jesus do it? How did he do it? How was he "God with us" and still in "human flesh"? We cannot fully comprehend it, but he was! The Son of God was also Jesus of Nazareth, born and placed in a manger and crucified on a cross. But he was raised from the dead and shown to be God's Son with power. He was seen by angels, both on earth after his resurrection and in heaven at the throne of God. He has been preached and believed on by people all over the world. The glory that he has he will one day show and share with us. If you want to understand godliness, then you begin with Jesus!
My Utmost For His Highest:
Living a life of faith means never knowing where you are being led. But it does mean loving and knowing the One who is leading. It is literally a life of faith, not of understanding and reason—a life of knowing Him who calls us to go. Faith is rooted in the knowledge of a Person, and one of the biggest traps we fall into is the belief that if we have faith, God will surely lead us to success in the world.
Our Daily Bread:
e not weary, Christian warrior,
Buckle on thine armor tight;
Be ye strong and face the battle
In the power of His might. —Iler
God’s armor is tailor-made for you, but you must put it on.
