This morning we had a shooting and lifting practice. We are back on the routine of shooting in the morning and training at night. The evening practice we focused on working on our defense. In any sport defense is very crucial, so I am glad coach took the time to work on it! We don’t have a game for awhile, so we will be practicing the rest of this week and next.
Tomorrow coach told us that our evening practice is going to be more uptempo (conditioning), so we will see what all that entails. So far I can say that I am pretty impressed with my coach. He has a lot of playing experience on the Turkish National Team, so he seems pretty knowledgeable!
I just finished reading “The Man Who Was Thursday”, by G.K. Chesterton. I must say that it was an interesting read, and kept my attention! The ending was pretty interesting and kind of mind boggling. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a thrilling novel. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so I won't say anything else about it. I think my next read will be a Ted Dekker book.
As I was doing my devotions tonight, I came across a paragraph, in “My Utmost For His Highest”, that I thought I would share with you:
“We must also learn that our individual effort for God shows nothing but disrespect for Him—our individuality is to be rendered radiant through a personal relationship with God, so that He may be ‘well pleased’ (Matthew 3:17).”
What an awesome reminder! Each and every day we need to surrender ourselves over to the living God and allow Him to do His work through us. His joy is truly our strength, and He alone gives us a peace that passes all understanding. What more can a person ask for?
