Yesterday was an exciting day! Last night we played Besiktas in Istanbul. It was a close game throughout, and we ended up pulling out the WIN 74-68 J. To God be the glory! The coach gave us two days off (today and tomorrow), so a lot of the girls stayed in Istanbul. Istanbul is home to a lot of the girls on the team, and then some of them stayed to hang out with friends. On the road trip home, there were only 6 girls on the bus. It was nice to be able to stretch out and get some space.
On the way home we stopped for supper at Burger King! I hadn’t eaten at an American restaurant since I was over here, so I welcomed getting to have a little taste of home. Although the reality of it is, I don’t really eat at Burger King very much at all in the States.
Today was a great day as well!! Isn’t it great to be alive? I went to church today J!! I was so excited to be able to go, because I had missed the past few Sundays because of games or practice. After church I went out to lunch with some of the people from church. It was nice, because the pastor and his wife came, so I was able to talk with them for a while which was great.
I got home around 2:30 p.m. and then just kind of had a lazy afternoon. I talked with some people that I hadn’t talked to in awhile and that was about it. I also watched a documentary on two guys that unicycle through the mountains! Instead of mountain biking, they unicycle…it was incredible!
This evening, Jo made some great Kenyan food for us! The menu consisted of coconut rice, coconut beans, bread, and chicken in a red sauce…it was delicious J. I also did some laundry. It was nice to be able to relax and catch up on some rest!
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
What an AMAZING verse! Jesus is our COUNSELOR, GOD, FATHER, and PEACE!!!! Jesus truly is the reason for the season :)
Have a relaxful Sunday evening!!
Below are a few pictures from my trip to Istanbul. I will post more pictures tomorrow!
