Genesis 20/Luke20
Genesis 20 – Wow this is an interesting story. Abimelech I feel like in this story shows a lot of grace to Abraham as well as Sarah. He not only returns Sarah to her husband, but he also pays money to them and offers to give them land. I am so glad that God intervened and did not allow Abimelech to sleep with Sarah. How eye opening that had to be to Abraham to realize that lying does not help in any situation…the truth is eventually going to come out. What a great reminder for us to TRUST in the Lord even when we may not see a way out.
Luke 20 – So many valuable lessons in this chapter. One that stuck out to me was how Jesus handled the attempts of people to try to get Jesus to falter or stumble with his words. Jesus always knew what to say, how to say it, and when to say it. He did an amazing job answering questions in a simple way as well. I think sometimes we think we have to answer a question in such a way that makes people think we are smart or sophisticated, when in reality we always need to just be our self and allow the Lord to speak through us. It finally got to the point in this chapter where no one else asked Jesus any questions because He was answering them spot on. I am thankful for Jesus’ example to us in how to handle different situations that we will inevitably be faced with on this earth. He is so good!!
