I went with Jo to Armada, in the afternoon again, to get some more groceries. It is amazing how quickly a person can run out of cereal, milk, bread, etc. Jo, who is from Kenya, got some ingredients to cook some Kenyan food. It didn’t take her long to whip up the meal, which was delicious!! The rest of the day I relaxed! I talked to some of my family as well. One of the girls on my team, Barren, had a birthday party in the evening, so I went to that for a little bit and hung out with the girls.
Now on to today…J
Coach gave us today OFF which was nice. I went to church with some people that I know over here. I am going to keep their names unknown to protect their safety. It is always great to be able to worship in the House of the Lord! I think it is so neat going to an International Church J. They always have a time of prayer, during worship, for people to be able to pray in their native tongue. There are so many cultures and people expressing their love for Christ during this time…how awesome!!
Revelation 5:11-12 says,
“Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousand upon thousands, and ten thousand times then thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang, ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise.’”
What a great reminder! It is so neat to see it firsthand, people from many nations coming together on Sunday to worship the One who is worthy of ALL of our praise!
After church I went out to eat with some people from church. We went to a kebab place that was amazing! I ordered a chicken kebab that came with some rice, vegetables, and of course bread. It was very filling and delicious! One of the couples there, had a daughter who graduated from Liberty in 2005...small world huh?
I stayed up kind of late last night, so when I got back to the apartment I read for a little bit and then took a nap which was great J. I have never really been much of a nap person, but I seem to have a lot of time on my hands these days, so I usually take a nap in the afternoons now.
Well, I am going to do some more reading before going to bed! I have two practices tomorrow, but first game is this Saturday!!!!
