A couple words that stuck out to me from the evening was “surrender” and “peace”. It was amazing for me to see the vulnerability that Steven had when he was sharing different stories and songs. You can tell he is a genuine Believer in Christ. I got to thinking about the word “surrender”. We sang part of the song “I surrender ALL” and it got me to thinking. You know it is easy to surrender the things that we don’t hold dear, but what about the things that we do? When we say to the Lord “I surrender ALL” do we really mean it….do I really mean it? Surrendering everything is not something that we can do humanly speaking. Completely surrendering only happens with the help of the Lord. Complete surrender of all includes surrendering our: future, past, present, career, family, friends, it means EVERYTHING. I was reminded of the importance of surrendering every aspect of our life to the Lord. What do you need to surrender to the Lord…what do I need to surrender over to the Lord? I know for certain that when we do surrender our ALL to the Lord that we then will have PEACE that passes all understanding ☺.
1 Corinthians 6:20 - "For you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."
Jesus surrendered His life for you and for me. The least we can do is surrender our “All “to Him. Thank you Lord for giving me your All. You have given me more than I could ask or imagine!!
Peace – I think every single person, no I know every single person in this world longs for peace. Peace does not come from this earth, but from above. When we “surrender all” we open up the doors for “peace” to come into our lives. When we hold back areas of our heart or life from the Lord, then we are not able to have true peace. God calls us to abandon all and follow him. We must have a “no hold’s bar” type of attitude. Surrender and peace go hand in hand. A challenge to me and to you is to reflect and search in our own heart and life to see if there is something the Lord is calling us to surrender to Him. I am so thankful for the ability to surrender and I am thankful for the peace that the Lord gives ☺!!
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!!
