Today is hump day today :) How is everyone doing? Most people who are in school or are teachers have this week off. I hope you all are enjoying your breaks...you deserve it!
Today I slept in a little bit and then worked on school work most of the morning. This afternoon we practiced and then watched game film of the team we will be playing on Saturday. On my walk home from the gym I stopped by the grocery store and picked up a few essentials. It was actually cooler here in Adana today. On my walk home I felt a little cold.
This evening I did a little bit more school work, but other than that just relaxing. I hope everyone has an awesome Thanksgiving tomorrow. While I will not be with my family or chowing down on some awesome Turkey, I still have many things to be thankful for. I love and miss my family and friends. It would be awesome to be with them, but I will soon enough. Only 3 1/2 more weeks until home...that doesn't seem bad at all!!
What I am thankful for:
I am thankful for being able to have food. I have so much! Sometimes I just think of the people in Africa or other third world countries, who have to ration out a portion of food to sustain them for a week or maybe even longer. If you think about the amount of food we have access to, and that some of us consume ha, be thankful that we have the luxury of knowing where our next meal is coming from. As you enjoy a typical Thanksgiving meal, remember to be thankful for the food you are eating.
God bless,
Megan
Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.— Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...Some things you don't change, swap, or update. In an age when computer processors make major leaps every few months and software companies release new upgrades every year, we get programmed into looking for the new and improved version of everything. The simple but profound truth is that Jesus is Lord. No update needed. No rival worthy. No change necessary. In fact, if we stray from this as the basis of our life, we put all we hold dear at risk. But if we continue, if we grow, if we root ourselves in this truth and make it the undergirding reality of our lives, then our future is secure and our victory assured!
My Utmost For His Highest:
Our spiritual strength begins to be drained when we stop lifting our eyes to Him. Our stamina is sapped, not so much through external troubles surrounding us but through problems in our thinking. We wrongfully think, “I suppose I’ve been stretching myself a little too much, standing too tall and trying to look like God instead of being an ordinary humble person.” We have to realize that no effort can be too high.
