Today has been pretty busy, but a lot was accomplished today. This morning I had an early start. I had to go to the tax office and then to the bank to open up a Turkish bank account. I had a little down time before afternoon practice and then it was time to head to practice. We had some more movement on our team as far as players go. The latest news now is that the American they released a few weeks ago they have now brought back. Then Lindsay Harding who is American, but has a European passport, is going to be leaving the team to play for a team in Russia. It has gotten to the point now, that I never know what to expect from day to day.
I am thankful that the Lord is my constant, and I can rest in His peace and presence amidst the continued transitions and movements happening with our team. I have been able to relax after practice which has been nice. Tomorrow we have a friendly game which will be a nice change up from the practices. We should have everyone back from National Team training by Thursday. I am looking forward to another game coming up soon. It has been a long almost 2 weeks of practicing without a game.
I wanted to share with you an excerpt from Jesus Calling today:
"Thankfulness takes the sting out of adversity. That is why I have instructed you to give thanks for everything." - Jesus Calling
This really hit home to me. It hasn't been the easiest transition for me over here, but amidst the "adversity" I have so much to be thankful for. I am trying to maintain a positive attitude and realize that it will take time to fully get adapted after coming in late and then adding to the plate all of the shuffling and moving that has been going on since I have gotten here.
Also, I don't know if you have seen the news, but Turkey shot down one of Russia's planes today. Turkey has said they warned Russia several times that the plane was flying in their air space and it needed to get out, but the plane never did so action was taken. We will see what the days and weeks ahead bring. Putin is now threatening to retaliate so we will see what happens. One thing I do know is our world is quite tumultuous, but once again how awesome is it to know that we serve an ALL-KNOWING God who is with us at all times. May we find our true rest and comfort in Him.
God bless,
Megan
