I slept in a little bit this morning. Then I went with coach to go workout and lift. So, I set my bookbag in the bleachers while I ran around the track. During the drive, I didn't put my key in my bag like I normally do. Normally when I am walking out of my apartment and out to the parking lot I will put my key in my bag, but today coach picked me up right at the door. I was holding onto my key, and I think I set the key down by my bag while running.
We were waiting for the lifting room to be opened up, and it was opened up while I was running, so coach took my bag in for me. I think my key was by my bag where I set it. I didn't think anything about my key then...totally slipped my mind. So I worked out and took a shower. Then went and got lunch with a teammate. Above is a picture of what they call a "waffle" here. It is filled with fruit and nutella, along with cool whip. Then I went to our teams club apartment because we had a meeting. From there we headed to a hotel to watch game film for the game tomorrow. This whole time I wasn't thinking about my key. Earlier in the day I had thought about checking my wallet or bag to make sure I had my key but I never did. And also Andja (one of my teammates) had given me a key to my door in my house that she had borrowed to try to get a door open in her house but it didn't work. So, that was a sign I should have checked for my key haha ;)
BUT anyways when we were on our way home from practice around 7:30 p.m. I decided to get my key out and ready so I could have it when I got home. Well there was no key in my bag. I took everything out 2 or 3 times, and nothing. So, coach went back to the lifting gym for me and I stayed with Andja in her apartment. She was so nice! She fed me dinner - I made some toast with chicken and cheese, then had some soup and pasta. I had only eaten a waffle thing for lunch/brunch so I was hungry. Coach looked at the track and never found anything he said, so then he brought some guy to try to break in but he couldn't. Then another guy came and he was on point. He got in my apartment and of course had to replace the lock and stuff. So, I finally got in around 9:30 ish into my apartment. I was glad to get back into my place - "no place like home" :). I was thankful to Andja for letting me chill with her for a couple of hours.
Moral of the story - totally my fault I lost my key - all worked out fine - I am not currently typing from INSIDE my apartment ;)!!! Also, it is Bayram here which is a holiday, so at one point coach told me I may have to spend the night with Andja, but I didn't end up having to. It would have been fine either way :) As I have learned...it is important to go with the flow!
Now I am chilling some and then bed. I have a busy day tomorrow. I will go workout and lift at 12 and then I am going to get lunch with some of my teammates, and then we will head to the gym for the game at 5. We play Galatasaray at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow which is 10:00 a.m. EST. They are the second best team in Turkey, so it will be a good challenge for us.
You can watch the game live here if you want to: 10 a.m. EST

“COME TO ME when you are hurting, and I will soothe your pain. Come to Me when you are joyful, and I will share your joy, multiplying it many times over. I am All you need, just when you need it. Your deepest desires find fulfillment in Me alone.
This is the age of self-help. Bookstores abound with books about “taking care of number one,” making oneself the center of all things. The main goal of these methodologies is to become self-sufficient and confident. You, however, have been called to take a “road less traveled”: continual dependence on Me. True confidence comes from knowing you are complete in My Presence. Everything you need has its counterpart in Me.
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 NLT
