Another day has come and gone here in Adana, Turkey. This morning we had a lift and then we practiced this afternoon. I took a short nap in between sessions which was nice.
Not a whole lot to update you all on today.
Verse of the day:
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant - not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
— 2 Corinthians 3:6 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...A new covenant -- God willingly entered into a new agreement with us, his creatures, sealed it with the blood of his Son Jesus, and sent the Spirit to give us the power to live the life of this new covenant. God has made a covenant of love and grace with us. The Almighty has then turned around and made us worthy and competent to share that covenant with others. No wonder it is life giving: it brings life to us and through us!
My Utmost For His Highest:
The weakest saint who transacts business with Jesus Christ is liberated the second he acts and God’s almighty power is available on his behalf.
I thought this was great!!
Our Daily Bread:
God often speaks through those to whom few are willing to listen. To hear God, be sure to listen to the humble.
God often uses lowly things
His purpose to fulfill,
Because it takes a humble heart
To carry out His will. —D. De Haan
God uses ordinary people to carry out His extraordinary plan.
I am not sure what my internet service will be like in the hotel, so if I do not post for a few days that will be why. I get back on very early Sunday morning. We have an 11:55 p.m. flight out on Saturday night, so by the time we get home it will be 2:30 ish in the morning on Sunday. Sunday is our OFF day, but we are going to be traveling to Ceyhan to watch them play Besiktas.
I hope you all have a blessed weekend too!!
