I am currently in the Chicago airport waiting for my flight to DC. I had a wonderful weekend spending some time with my boyfriend in Iowa before I head across the water to Israel in two weeks. I flew in on Thursday and surprised my boyfriend. He thought I was coming in on Friday. What a blessing the weekend was. Thursday we went out to eat with another couple to Buffalo Wild Wings and chilled some. On Friday I went for a morning run while Caleb had class. We then got lunch together and chilled a little bit and then Caleb headed to practice! Friday evening we were able to chill some more together and then Saturday was game day. I was able to watch the game which was a lot of fun. Unfortunately they came up on the short end of the stick, but how neat it was to be there in person and watch a game. Saturday night we drove to Sioux Falls with another couple and got dinner there and then we putt putted which was a lot of fun. I was kind of pumped we went to Sioux Falls. It was neat to say that I had been in South Dakota again. After having lived in South Dakota for 4 years and then only going back when I was in junior high, it was so nice to be able to be in that state again...it had been awhile!
On Sunday, Caleb and I went to church. There are quite a few churches near Dordt college, but Caleb seems to have found a pretty good one. The pastor is very genuine and sincere when he is preaching. After church, we went back and hung out at Caleb's dorm. Caleb and I made tacos for some of his friends. Then, we all chilled some and watched some football. The afternoon and evening consisted of Caleb working on some homework...so while he did that I did some reading. Then we went on a walk together, and then went and got some dinner and brought it back and ate and then chilled a little bit. I had to wake up at 3:55 a.m. to start my trek to the airport (about an hour drive) from where Dordt is and Caleb had 6 am workouts. I am not gonna lie it was painful saying bye to Caleb knowing I will not see him the rest of 2013, but I am so thankful for the amazing summer that we were blessed to have, and thankful for one last visit before we are apart for a couple of months. God is so good and He is faithful. I know He is more than enough and He alone will sustain us individually and together as well!
Here are a couple pics from the weekend:
The end of August was a busy time for me. I have been hitting workouts hard, so I do those throughout the week and then my sister Molly came for a visit for a few days which was a lot of fun! Then the following weekend I headed to Ohio and spent the weekend there visiting my sisters and Grandparents as well as cousins and Aunts and Uncles. So so thankful I had that time with them.
Until then, I plan on spending time with my parents in Lynchburg the next two weeks. This trip to Iowa concludes my "trips" for the summer. I hope to blog at least one more time before heading overseas, and then once getting overseas I will plan on blogging again pretty regularly!
I hope everyone has a great week ahead! I am headed to my gate now, as I will be boarding my plane soon to head to Washington DC.
God bless,
Megan
